4 Tips to Fixing Your Website Post-Penguin

When Google made some changes to their algorithms, hundreds of businesses were affected. Gone are the days when keyword and its density had been the main priority. Gone are the days when you didn’t really have to consider the relevancy of your articles. Gone are those days when you can cheat off Google’s algorithms and still remain at the top page rank of Google search. Those days – they were the easy days. Now that Google has the Panda and Penguin updates, it’ll take more than the usual internet marketing services to remedy the situation.

However, even if your business was hit by Google’s latest update, it doesn’t mean that all is lost. In fact, it means that you can completely change your black hat into white, which will allow you to bank on slow, but long term changes for your internet marketing strategy. So, what do you do when you get hit by Google’s updates?

1. Be dynamic

If you’ve always relied on Google algorithms to get you traffic, then you’re going about internet marketing in the wrong way. You see, if you put all of your eggs in a basket and the basket drops, then you lose all of your eggs. You need to have a dynamic strategy to maintain your position in Google search engine results. You have to find more than one ways to get to the top. Otherwise, every time Google makes changes, you could be hit again and again.

2. Prioritize your users

Never forget who you are marketing for. Don’t market for Google, because Google is simply an algorithm that will change its system once in awhile. Market for real people. Prioritize who your products are for. Improve your website because your users need to know how to use your website without going crazy. If they end up closing your website within a few seconds, then there’s definitely something wrong with your website. Go over your website and see what you need to improve. Check out competitors if you have to.

3. Bank on content

Content marketing can be a powerful strategy when it comes to internet marketing. Never forget how much influence one article can give to a person. If an article is informational and helpful, people will remember it and they’ll eventually refer it to friends who need answers. Write about your products. Tell people what your products can do. Elaborate on the benefits of your products. Let your customers know what your products are for. Content can also be used for search engine optimization which will also help you get to the top of Google.

4. Start socializing

Remember when we said you have to feed your customers? Yes, you have to get to know them. The more you know whom you are marketing to, the better it’ll be for your marketing strategy. Use social media to help you get a closer look. Social media allows you to get one on one sessions with your market. Socialize well and your market will appreciate the effort.
