Tips for Marketing on Google+

Despite the fact that Google+ may be one of the latest babies of social media marketing, it’s still a very worthy platform to look at. While it may not yet be at the dynasty of Twitter and Facebook, it is a product of Google, after all, and we know how Google fares in marketing products. One day, it’ll be a huge help for internet marketers and if you’re the last to know about it, then you might also be the last to establish your business on it. And that’s not something any business could afford.

To hone this internet marketing service to your benefit, here are few tips to help you.

1. Establish your own URL

Just like Twitter and Facebook, you need to have your own URL to promote. Unfortunately, because Google+ doesn’t have vanity URLs mastered just yet, your business page comes up with a URL as long as: https://plus.google.com/123456789101112131415. Imagine having to promote that kind of URL to your audience. They won’t remember a thing! To help your audience find your business, establishing a vanity URL is essential. You can use custom-made URLs instead.

2. Profile your business

Next, you need to let your audience know who you are. How? On your hovercard, at the Employer field, there is enough space to help you with a few words about your business. It might be a short space, but you need it to help people to know if they’ve found the right business. Create a short business profile that will satisfy your audience.

3. Let them know you’re on Google+

Now that you have your own Google+ page, you need to let everyone know about it. Connect it to your website. Promote it on Twitter and Facebook and give your fans or current customers a chance to follow you on Google+. If all else fails, it’s time you sort through Google+ yourself to see who can be your audience.

4. Communicate and share

Like any smart social media marketing strategies, you need to be able to communicate and share on your page. Talk to your audience. Let them know you’re ON Google+ and you’re not just a page set up to build fans. Share your posts. Share other people’s posts. Comment and communicate. You are marketing on a social media platform after all. Remember, it is important not to sound like a salesman or they will immediately tune you out.

5. Get their attention

In order to get the audience you want, you need to be an attention seeker. One of the best ways to do that is to hold contests. You can also post photos because giving your customers a visual at your business is a great way to communicate. You can also ask questions or post trivia. Once you have their attention and respect, you can start building your reputation and increasing your customer base.
